Samsung has produced the Bot Care, whose prototype can help take care of the sick or elderly by tracking things like blood pressure and heart rate. Similarly, the Elli-Q Robot by Intuition Robotics can help seniors stay sharp with daily quizzes, medication reminders and the ability to talk to family members. Samsung’s Bot Air will roam around your home and purify the air in different rooms. It even has a flashing green light when the air is considered clean! No more wondering if you need to clean that one area of the room anymore.

AI in the Wild – Literally

An interesting concept is being put to the test is solving the crime of animal poaching. Intel has partnered with Resolve and the National Geographic Society to develop and new “TrailGuard AI” camera to spot poachers in Africa’s wildlife reserves. The cameras us AI to detect faces and distinguish movements caused by humans, animals or wind. When the system detects something that could be a threat, it notifies officials so they can take action much quicker and hopefully save more endangered animals.
